Ottawa Citizen: Social Scene | Community Builders: RÄNDĀ VO͞O
RÄNDĀ VO͞O, a network evening for young professionals led by Aaron McFarlane, took place at the National Arts Centre on Thursday evening. A collection of high-achieving young professionals, small business owners and entrepreneurs coming together for a dynamic after-work affair that also has ties to an economic and community development.
BY ASHLEY FRASER /Postmedia Article contentRÄNDĀ VO͞O, a business networking event for young professionals, took place Thursday, June 8, at the NAC. The event was held in the Al Zaibak Lantern Room and the Rossy Pavilion overlooking Elgin Street with spectacular views of Parliament Hill, the War Memorial and the Château Laurier. As the smoke-filled downtown air cleared on Thursday, guests were able to enjoy the wonderful sights at the cocktail-style evening of networking.
RÄNDĀ VO͞O unites Ottawa's business community for a premier business social event experience.
Well, I don’t know about you, but it sure felt good to shake the dust off the sequins and suits last week at the sold-out RÄNDĀ VO͞O Business Network season finale. Almost 400 members of Ottawa’s high-achieving business community - and even a few from Vancouver and Montreal - all got together under the same roof to polish their elevator pitches, catch up with old friends, and say hello to new friends they hadn’t met yet.And what a roof it was! At the modern Ottawa Art Gallery, stylish crowds congregated on the main-level Jackson Cafe and in the upstairs art-filled VIP room. The city’s finest movers and shakers, business owners and entrepreneurs sipped on premium cocktails by Dairy Distillery and Beyond the Pale, noshed on sumptuous desserts and premium hors d’oeuvres catered by Bazille at Nordstrom Rideau, and enjoyed musical entertainment by local saxophone player Ben Joseph.Time and time again, participants agreed: What sets RÄNDĀ VO͞O apart from other networking social events in Ottawa is its relaxed, chic, and inclusive vibe. While bringing together some of the city’s highest achieving professionals from across diverse industries, its no-pressure approach allows people to unwind after work while forming genuine connections. There were two cherries on the networking sundae of RÄNDĀ VO͞O’s season finale: one was the caliber of prizes several lucky professionals won at the end of the night, donated by generous local business owners. The other was knowing that part of the proceeds from this event go towards a great cause - the Ottawa Youth Services Bureau. This year alone, RÄNDĀ VO͞O events have raised more than $15,000 for the organization, which helps youth in need.“The Youth Services Bureau Foundation is so grateful for the transformative support that RÄNDĀ VO͞O has provided to our organization,” says fundraising coordinator Oliver Saner.“Since the beginning of 2022, RÄNDĀ VO͞O events have raised over $15,000 representing the sponsorship of three rooms for young people in our downtown emergency shelters. This support is truly life changing for the vulnerable young people that turn to YSB when they are in need, and would not be possible without the community coming together for these fantastic events."
